With a special appearance by Dave “Gonzo” Goelz! A must see for lucky so-and-sos in the Bay Area…
My favorite theater in the world, showing two of my favorite Christmas specials in the world… and I’ll be out of town. FUUUUUUUUUUUU–
That’s part of the reason I’m posting this: I can’t go, but you certainly can! And you really should, because not only are Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas and The Bells of Fraggle Rock two of the finest Holiday productions ever made by the Henson Company, but Dave Goelz is gonna be there in person doing a Q&A.
In case you didn’t know, Goelz is the puppeteer behind Gonzo the Great, and one of the few surviving members of the original Muppet ensemble. Of course, he also played the part of Boober and Uncle Travelin’ Matt on Fraggle Rock, as well as Wendel and other supporting characters in Emmet Otter, so I’m sure he can shed many an insight on these timeless productions.

And if I know the Castro Theatre like I think I do, I wouldn’t be surprised if the audience broke out in song along with Paul Williams’ phenomenal Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas soundtrack. Keep it in mind on December 22nd. It’s $15, $10 for kiddies. Go to celebrate Christmas! Go to celebrate Emmet Otter’s 35th Anniversary! Go to see one of the most beautifully curated theaters in the entire world! Hell, JUST GO!
