@Shaxbert
Huh, I've never noticed that. I'll take another look at it this weekend... perhaps an update is in order.

@WiLdFiRe
Thanks, muffin

Keep it up Chris. It just snowed here, it reminded me of this. Never been a fan of this one though, although you do make very good points about it.

Rudolph is without a doubt a classic- I watch it every year! And every year, I'm amazed that they haven't addressed an issue that's bugged me ever since I first noticed it about five years ago.

Ok, so when Hermie and Rudolph make it to the Island of Misfit Toys, and they start singing The Most Wonderful Day of the Year, each one lists off what makes them such misfits. One of them is an owl with a fish's tail: "How'd you like to be a bird that doesn't fly? I swim!"

Fast-forward to the ending- Santa's picked up the Misfit Toys and, with the help of one of his elves, is distributing them to children around the world. The elf reaches into the bag, pulls out a toy, gives it an open umbrella, and tosses it over the side, where it presumably floats gently down to the sleeping children below.

Then he pulls out the bird with a fish's tail. Pauses for a bit.

Pulls out the umbrella and opens it.

Then he just chucks the bird over the side without giving it the umbrella. I mean, it's a bird, right? It can just fly on down.

ONLY THE BIRD DOESN'T FLY.

IT SWIMS.

Merry Christmas, folks!
